North London Shotokan Karate Club was founded in 1983. It's first club was in Crouch End, this soon expanded to other clubs in the surrounding area.

It's Chief Instructor is Sensei John De Bono who is a 5th Dan in Shotokan Karate. He has been involved in karate for 36 years

Sensei John has also competed at the highest level and is a qualified England Referee.

Instructor: Natasha De Bono, 2nd Dan, has opened her new dojo at IJP School, Barkingside, Ilford. Classes will be on Thursdays: 4.15 - 5.15pm (6-16 year olds) and 7.30 - 8.30pm (women & girls only)

 
EKF Northern Regionals in Sheffield

This weekend saw local girl Natasha De Bono from NLSK, take part in the English Karate Federation (EKF), Northern Regionals in Sheffield. It was a 350 mile, 6 hour round trip, but was well worth the effort.

North London Shotokan Karate (NLSK) held it’s first Black Belt Grading of 2009

North London Shotokan Karate (NLSK)There was a one hour training session first, then followed straight away with a 90 minute grading.  Which consisted of advanced techniques of Kihon, five different Katas and Kumite.  Cuneyt Belber and Cesar Zapata both passed his Shodan (first black belt).  Both have been training really hard for this day and it paid off for both of them, well done.

The BKF National SNR & JNR Karate Championships 2008

North London Shotokan Karate (NLSK) took part in the British Karate Federation (BKF) Championships 2008, last weekend at Sheffield, where teams from England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland all competed. There were many senior champions taking part, using this as a dress rehearsal for the World Championships in Japan in November and a number of Junior and Cadets aiming for places in Paris
