North London Shotokan Karate Club was founded in 1983. It's first club was in Crouch End, this soon expanded to other clubs in the surrounding area.

It's Chief Instructor is Sensei John De Bono who is a 5th Dan in Shotokan Karate. He has been involved in karate for 36 years

Sensei John has also competed at the highest level and is a qualified England Referee.

This was the last competition this year. It fell very quickly after the International Open two weeks ago. This time it was the Meopham Junior - Cadet Open Championships in Kent.

This was the first competition this year that NLSK concentrated only on kata and no kumite, due to work commitments and injuries.

Luca and JDB Luca Valdesi, current World & European Kata Champion was invited to conduct a Kata seminar.  Hosted by NLSK Chief Instructor John De Bono (EKF Board Director) this was Luca’s first visit to England and he seemed as excited to be here, as everyone was to actually meet him in person.
