NLSK competed in The International Karate Open 2007 at Dagenham.  There were over 400 competitors taking part from England, Malta and Georgia.  

First up was Jane De Bono who was competing in the Women’s Kata 16 years & over, novice to 4th kyu category and took Silver with a good performance of Heian Sandan.

Natasha De Bono competed in the Women’s Kata 16 years & over 3rd kyu to Dan grade category; she performed a good display of Bassai-Dai and took Bronze.

Christine Mc Neill and Peter Katsis both took part in the veteran’s Kata Category with Christine taking Bronze and Peter missed out on a medal by 0.3 of a mark.

Ellen Welsh competing in her second competition took part in the girls Kumite novice to 6th kyu, she matched her last feat and took another Silver home.

Christine Mc Neill competed in the Women’s Kumite fought well and took her second Bronze of the day. 

Making a day’s tally of 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. The other members of the squad who also took part were Ferhat and Serkan Seferoglu, Jack Welsh, Jamie Mc Neill and Alex Cadwallender.
