| Maltese arrive 3rd year running |
|
NLSK was honoured to play host to the Maltese squad as they arrived in the UK. Chief Instructor Chris Galea (5th Dan) brought along a squad of ten students to compete at the London International Open 2007, with over 450 contestants taking part. As part of their preparation, a three-hour training session was organised in North London.
This involved Kata, Kumite and mental preparation. Students worked individually, then in teams of three and worked on different parts of their kata, breaking it down into separate moves. Then they concentrated on kumite, highlighting speed work and sweeps. At the end of the session students had their photos taken with all the senior instructors. We hope to see them again in 2008. |
