| Maltese arrive in London |
|
North London Shotokan was honoured to play host to the Maltese squad as they arrived in the UK. Chief Instructor Chris Galea (5th Dan) and wife Lucienne Galea (4th Dan) brought along a squad of eighteen to compete at the London International Open 2006, with over 600 contestants taking part.
As part of their preparation, a three-hour training session was organised in North London. This involved Kata and mental preparation. Students worked individually, then in teams of three and worked on different parts of their kata, breaking it down into separate moves. At the end of the session students had their photos taken with all the senior instructors. On the following day the Maltese squad did very well at the competition and came out overall winning team, with the most trophies and points. Well done to them. We hope to see them again in 2007. |
